Overview

LGT India, Venture Philanthropy is seeking a Chief of Staff to work closely with the India Team Lead and the senior leadership across LGT VP. This is a high-impact, strategic role designed to support and accelerate LGT India’s flagship initiatives, deepen its positioning in India and Asia, strengthen partnerships across the LGT Group (including LGT Wealth India and Lightrock), and contribute to select Asia-facing initiatives. The Chief of Staff will act as a thought partner, execution lead, and force multiplier, taking ownership of critical cross-cutting projects and programs, supporting complex partnerships. 


This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, partnerships, and systems-building, and who is excited to work across themes such as early childhood development, health systems, climate & nature, and community-led solutions.

Key responsibilities

As Chief of Staff, you will work closely with the India Team Lead and the India team, while engaging regularly with the global team in Zurich and partners across the LGT ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include: 

Strategic Stewardship of Flagship Initiatives

  • Co-curate the design, coordination, and execution of LGT India’s flagship initiatives and priority programs (e.g. multi-partner platforms, collectives, pilots, and launches), in collaboration with India Team lead, internal global team and relevant external stakeholders
  • Advance collaboration efforts across early childhood development and community-based conservation, helping position LGT VP as a trusted thought partner in India
  • Shape the narrative, framing, and external positioning of LGT VP India’s work with funders, implementation partners, and ecosystem actors
  • Support high-level engagements, events, Board interactions, and key funder conversations by translating strategy into clear workplans, decision memos and execution roadmaps
  • Step in on special projects, bottlenecks, or high-priority asks as needed 

Partnerships & LGT Group Engagement 

  • Manage and deepen key partnerships in India, including with foundations, families, ecosystem partners, and implementing organizations
  • Strengthen collaboration across the LGT group (e.g. LGT Wealth India, Lightrock) to deepen strategic alignment and unlock synergies
  • Contribute to select Asia-facing initiatives, in collaboration with global colleagues 

The role will involve periodic travel within India and occasional international travel for partner engagements, site visits, or global team interactions. 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, with exposure to strategy, consulting, program management, investing, or operations in social impact, development, or adjacent fields
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or programs involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the philanthropic and social impact landscape in India; exposure to funders, non-profits, and/or policy environments is a significant advantage
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, partners, and diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward ownership and execution 

Must Haves  

  • Candidate must have a valid work permit for India
