Overview

LGT Venture Philanthropy Foundation (LGT VP) seeks an experienced Business Analyst / Controller to strengthen its team based in Zurich.

LGT VP is an independent charitable foundation established in 2007 in Liechtenstein and Switzerland with teams in Switzerland, Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life of people facing disadvantages, contribute to healthy ecosystems and build resilient, inclusive, and prosperous communities.

As a Business Analyst / Controller, you work closely with the senior leadership team to manage systems and procedures ensuring efficient and effective execution of the investment, portfolio, and post-investment management processes, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous insights and learning. You lead day-to-day finance and investment operations with an annual investment budget of approx. USD 10-15m.

You come with a positive, proactive, can-do mindset, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to take on responsibility as well as new initiatives. You thrive on working in a small team, where your responsibilities span across multiple disciplines, including data, IT, processes, controlling, and grant management.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
  • Grant Management along the whole investment process: Manage all in-bound and out-bound financial flows as well as core organizational and social/environmental impact data on bespoke systems such as iLevel, PowerBI, Salesforce (or similar).
  • Data Management and Business Intelligence: Analyse and report accurate financial, operational, and impact data of our portfolio organizations; manage Business Intelligence systems and processes for improved strategic planning.
  • Systems and processes: Develop, improve and maintain LGT VP’s backend systems to optimally support team members in their work.
  • Compliance: Maintain and enforce internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures.

What is your background?

  • You have 5+ years of relevant working experience in, finance, operations, data management and systems, with a track record of gathering, evaluating, and reporting business information to executive teams and external stakeholders.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or an MBA.
  • IT and technology savvy with experience selecting and managing software solutions and managing relationships with software vendors such as iLevel, PowerBi, and SalesForce (or similar).
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation and insights versus simple reporting.
  • A track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of foundation grants is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English. German proficiency is valued.
  • Swiss/EU National or valid Swiss Work Permit.
